Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TripShare Atlas mobile app ("the app", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

In short: TripShare Atlas helps groups track and split shared expenses. It records who owes whom — it does not move real money or connect to your bank. Use it responsibly, keep your login secure, and the app is provided "as is."

1.Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, accessing, or using TripShare Atlas, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms from time to time (see Section 10).

2.What the app does

TripShare Atlas is an independently developed Android app that lets groups of people create trips, record shared expenses, split them among members, and track balances and settlements. It is a record-keeping tool only.

3.Eligibility & your account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the app.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

4.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the app for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
Enter false, misleading, or infringing information, or impersonate anyone;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, other users' data, or our systems;
Interfere with, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overload the service or its infrastructure;
Upload malicious code or use automated means to abuse the app.

5.Your content and data

You retain ownership of the trip and expense information you enter. By using the app, you grant us the limited right to store, process, and display that information as needed to operate the service (for example, showing your name and expenses to other members of trips you join). How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

6.No real-money processing (important)

TripShare Atlas does not process payments, hold funds, or connect to any bank or payment account. "Settlements" recorded in the app are simply notes that a payment was made outside the app between members. We are not a money-transfer, escrow, or financial service, and we are not responsible for any real-world payments, debts, or disputes between members. Always verify balances yourself before settling up.

7.Availability

We aim to keep the app available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The app depends on third-party infrastructure (Google Firebase) and your device and network. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

8.Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of calculations, or non-infringement. You use the app and rely on its figures at your own discretion and risk.

9.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of TripShare Atlas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, money, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app — including any financial disputes between members. Because the app is provided free of charge, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is zero.

10.Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated within the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

11.Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account (see the Delete Your Account page). We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the app in a way that could harm others or the service.
